Imphal, December 22 2017: The Department of Surgery, JNIMS organised a meet on the Continuing Medical Education (CME) on Deceased Organ Donation today at its auditorium .The inaugural ceremony was graced by Professor Th Bhimo (Director, JNIMS), Professor Sunil Shroff (Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation) and Kh Sulochana (President, IMA, Manipur Branch and HoD, Department of Microbiology, RIMS, Imphal) as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively .

Professor S Rajendra (HoD, Department of Urology, RIMS) and Assistant Professor K Sholay Meitei (Department of Urology, JNIMS) were also seated on the dais as the organising chairman and organising secretary respectively.Speaking at the function, Professor Bhimo said, “The Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994 initiated organ donation and transplantation in India and some States like Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and NGOs like the MOHAN Foundation have taken a leading role in organ transplantation in India.”….Readmore
